HOME

Conceived by choreographer and visual artist Molly Scott with composer Jarrad Powell, the evening-length work Home premiered at the Erickson Theater, Seattle, May 20-23, 2010.

What does last over the course of an hour is the piece’s shapeshifting sense of momentum, enhanced by Jarrad Powell’s marvelous electronics-and-percussion score. Choreographer Molly Scott and Powell seem to read each other’s minds with a lithe, mercurial accuracy....The dancing is so uniformly fine throughout that it feels unfair to single anyone out, but Jim Kent has a particularly light yet forceful precision in the way he follows the flow of Scott’s moves. ...HOME is as striking as it is elusive, as seductive as it is ephemeral.
